TD Lind Premieres Video For New Single “Bow Down”

Los Angeles, CA – September 19, 2016 – Acclaimed singer-songwriter TD Lind has debuted a new song and politically charged music video for the first single “Bow Down” (Surfdog Records) from his upcoming new studio album, to be released later this year. Featuring animation by award-winning artist and cartoonist Walt Taylor, wittily illustrating Lind’s lyrics, “Bow Down” weaves a story capturing today’s current socio-political climate and the often-uncontested process of the powers that be. Taking aim at everyone from Trump to the Clinton’s and everything from pharmaceuticals to housing, Lind deftly speaks a collective point of view many share, regardless of political affiliation. The video is now premiering at PureVolume, can be viewed on TD Lind’s official YouTube channel, and is available for purchase at iTunes and online retailers everywhere.

“Having been born in England but calling the States home for the better part of twenty years, living everywhere from New York to Los Angeles, and numerous places in between, this song represents not just my own observations but that of many personal interactions I’ve had over the years,” says Lind. “There’s concern over the struggle for power, greed, and injustice on all levels in society. I brought just these three observations to light in ‘Bow Down.’ This is a song I’ve been kicking around for several years now and it’s as universal and timeless now as it was back then. When I thought of the storyboard I wanted to find a political satirist who would have their own experiences and ideas to draw from and inject them into the video as well as my own, the great Walt Taylor is that man.”

Over the years in the studio and on the road, supporting acts such as James Blunt and Mew, Lind has attracted notable accolades from the press and from influential supporters including long-time admirer and legendary producer Glyn Johns (Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, The Who, Rolling Stones). “TD Lind has a very unusual and a very fine talent as a songwriter,” says Johns. “And if you get the opportunity to see him play live, it’s absolutely astonishing.”

Critical acclaim coming from music press the world over include venerable UK publications Q magazine calling Lind’s music “as relaxed as JJ Cale, as musical as Mumford & Sons, as warm as Elbow” and Uncut magazine proclaiming “TD Lind is a welcome gust of fresh air. His voice has the yearning languor of Rufus Wainwright, but with the melodramatic sophistication replaced by raw and earthy warmth.”

Born and bred in Buckinghamshire, TD Lind fell in love with rock n roll, jazz and blues at a very early age. He spent his early years skipping school to play piano in jazz clubs in Paris and eventually formed a band that toured extensively throughout the UK. He was discovered by an American label rep who moved him to New York City to begin is recording career. Touring from city to city across the U.S., Lind eventually settled in Louisville, Kentucky where he formed a new band called Edenstreet. The band toured in support of their highly praised album but eventually disbanded after three years.

Following, TD Lind hit the road as a solo artist, spending the next few years touring the U.S. and the UK playing in small bars and jazz clubs as well as before thousands at festivals and concerts. He shared the stage with artists large and small including Wilco, Paul Rodgers, and many others. His music found its way into several films and TV shows including Deadwood, The Unusuals and Driving Lessons. He fell in love with a girl from Montana and moved to Los Angeles, where he released his third solo album The Outskirts of Proper. The album caught the attention of a label in England and received wide acclaim after its release overseas. The success led him to perform at several festivals and shows supporting Sting, while The Outskirts of Proper was named one of the ‘Top 20 Albums of 2012’ by Rolling Stone France.

Lind eventually moved back to the U.S. in 2014 and settled into Ojai, CA, where he resides currently. When he is not writing music he is a grove manager and caretaker of the Ojai Olive Oil company, making his own organic olive oil. Over the last two years performing up and down the west coast, while writing and recording, TD Lind is gearing up to release his new album (title TBD) in 2016.
